The Ragdoll is a large affectionate, semi-longhaired cat with captivating blue eyes.  Like a child's ragdoll, many of these cats will go limp in your arms and flop like a stuffed doll when cuddled or carried. Generally, the Ragdoll cat is a loving, quiet cat with a very laidback disposition.  Most are eager to play when prompted, kittens and young adults especially so.  Ragdolls are known for their tolerant attitudes with other animals and children, and many will allow themselves to be dressed in doll clothes and carried about with no resistance. They are often compared to dogs because of their friendliness and intelligence and have even been taught to play fetch.

The Ragdoll has a medium length, silky soft coat with a rabbit fur-like texture. There is little shedding of the coat with the exception of the spring shed. Its soft and airy texture allows it to stay on top of surfaces and is easyily picked up by hand or damp cloth.  Their coat requires a little routine grooming, and should be brushed or combed weekly to remove loose hair and separate tangles. Additional combing may be required during the spring shedding season, and be sure to watch for tangles under the armpits.

I breed for the following 4 patterns: colorpoint, bicolor, mitted, and lynx. Colorpoint Ragdolls have classic markings like the Siamese with no white anywhere on the body.  Bi-color Ragdolls have white extending up the legs, splashes of white on the back, a white underside and an inverted white V on the face.  Mitted Ragdolls have white feet in the front looking like mittens and white markings on the back legs up to the hock, which end up looking like boots.  Mitted cats can also have a white blaze on the face.  Lynx Ragdolls are very much like the other patterns with the exception of having gray tabby-like striping.

With the Ragdoll being one of the largest domestic cat breeds, it can take up to 4 years to reach full maturity. Fully developed males weigh from 15-20+ pounds with the proportionately smaller females weigh from 10-15+ pounds. These gentle cats have long, substantial bodies with sturdy boning to match. They have a sweet expression emphasized by large eyes full of love and devotion.

If you are ready for a new loving companion, these wonderful cats will steal your heart away the moment you lay eyes on them!
